Giant Food has alerted customers of a recall they issued on their PF Chang’s Pork & Leek Dumplings Frozen Appetizers due to undeclared shrimp and Pollock on the label. The product is safe to eat for any consumers “who do not suffer from a Crustacean shellfish or fish allergy.” There have been no incidents reported as of yet. Giant Foods is offering a full refund for the products.
The following product is included in this recall:
- PF Chang’s Pork & Leek Dumplings, 12.5 oz., UPC 3620021215, with use by dates of MAY082014 and MAY092014
Giant has received no reports of illnesses to date, but people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to shellfish or fish may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions or bring their purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund.
Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic. Allergic reactions can include: hives; flushed skin or rash; tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth; face, tongue, or lip swelling; vomiting and/or diarrhea; abdominal cramps; coughing or wheezing; dizziness and/or lightheadedness; swelling of the throat and vocal cords; difficulty breathing; loss of consciousness.
